Help, my strategy has run out

Here's how we can help you.

Have you run out of strategy? Are you looking for a new strategy because the current one is nearing its expiry date? Do you want to re-relate to your context? Looking for which opportunities you want to capitalise on as an organisation?

Is your current strategy or business model no longer sufficient? Is your context subject to such change that you need to innovate? Are you looking for new solutions? Are you looking for a new strategy based on your strengths? Do you want to anchor sustainability in your strategy or business plan?

These are all relevant questions, at any point in the year. We are happy to help answer these questions, through a strategy track or two-day process.

We can help in 2-3 months or 2 days

The best approach to creating a new strategy depends on where your organisation stands.
We use the 9 building blocks below, and together determine which are most relevant to your context.

We help you with a new strategy/business plan by:

  • a strategy trajectory of 2/3 months (consisting of at least 6 building blocks)
  • a strategy 2 days (consisting of the building blocks with a ❗)

exploration

design

action

A meeting with the core team to discuss challenge, context and objectives. Together, we determine scope and success.

In a two-day working session, we jointly define the contours of the new mission, vision and strategy, and translate them into strategic themes.

To initiate a movement, a good story with attractive visualisation(s) helps. This can be done in collaboration with external parties.

Based on input provided, desk research, and some interviews, we map the context: key developments, challenges, opportunities and threats. This forms important input for the 'strategy two-day'.

We present the new mission, vision and strategy to key internal and external stakeholders in validation sessions. We validate and enrich the strategy with input from the participants. Think Supervisory Board, customers and works council/employees.

An organisation can start moving when it is clear what the new strategy requires of the organisation. We map this out using our Thrive by Design method, in which we look at the impact of the direction on culture, governance, organisation, skills, tools and working environment.

What can we learn from other organisations? How do they deal with similar challenges? What inspiration do they bring us? We will talk to 3 frontrunners inside and outside your field.

To gain focus on the necessary movement, it is valuable to organise co-creation sessions with external experts for some strategic choices and enrich them.

Strategy is 'doing', action. We create a roadmap of initiatives. We design and implement an appropriate method of learning and adjusting so that the strategy remains up-to-date.

Result of 'exploration' phase
Expectations clear, understanding of challenge, context and objectives, clear next steps.

Result of 'design' phase
Endorsed vision, mission and strategy, validated with stakeholders.

Result phase 'action'
Strategic narrative with visualisation(s). Insight into organisational impact and an action-oriented roadmap.
